Requirements

If you are over 17 years of age and intend to fish during your charter, you will need to purchase a Michigan fishing license prior to boarding the Sandpiper. We also ask that you please be on time. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to give Captain Mike a call at (239) 246-7101.

Fishing License

Michigan State law requires that each angler over the age of 17 have a valid fishing license and trout stamp. There are one-day permits available. Changes to the Michigan fishing license structure took place on March 1, 2014. To see what has changed click here. You can visit the Michigan Department of Natural Resources website to find out more or to purchase your fishing license online.

Cancellation/Late Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule your charter, please call us at least 72 hours in advance of your scheduled charter date. If your party fails to appear at the required time on your charter date, the crew will wait for one hour and then treat your absence as a cancellation. If you should happen to encounter problems, please call us at (239) 246-7101.

What To Bring

The following items are not required, but they can certainly be helpful! For the most fun and comfort, we recommend that you bring the following items aboard with you on your fishing trip.
Comfortable Clothing. For your safety, we recommend wearing deck or soft rubber-soled shoes. Expect variable weather conditions and off-shore differences in temperatures. Wearing layered clothing may be best.
Sunglasses. Water reflects light and can make even an overcast day seem harsh on the eyes. Don't forget your shades!
Sunscreen. The water reflects UV rays even on the most overcast of days so it will be important to apply sunscreen for your protection.
Refreshments. Feel free to bring your choice of food and beverages. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed responsibly and not in violation of the law.
Coolers. The boat carries coolers, however you may want to bring your own to keep your catch cold on the trip home.
Camera. Don't forget your camera! There will be some great shots for your memory book!
